Detection of Mycobacterium paratuberculosis

Sensivet™ Paratub System

The Para-JEM® technology is a culture of Mycobacterium paratuberculosis in a specific culture medium allowing an important gain in sensitivity for the detection of M.paratuberculosis in faeces.

The "Sensivet™ Paratub System" combines the para-JEM® technology with the Real Time PCR.

The "Sensivet™ Paratub System" allows to reduce considerably the testing cycle and to increase the sensitivity compared to the conventional methods.

After a decontamination step, with the "LSI MPT Faeces décontamination kit", the samples are inoculated into the liquid culture kit " LSI para-JEM Ampli kit" ;

The bottles are incubated at 37°C for 42 days in the "specific incubator for mycobacteria VERSATREK®" or in a classical incubator.

A PCR analysis with the Tavet™ M.paratuberculosis kit wa performed on the culture broth obtained to detect the presence of M.paratuberculosis in the sample.

The PCR analysis can be performed after 15 and 30 days of incubation, a positive outcome is possible in samples with high bacterial load.
